I have been restoring, modifying and scratch building Magnavox/ Mag style power amplifiers for 15 years now. As you can see I kind of went crazy and did a bunch (21 total). Why Magnavox?: Peter Jensen was the lead engineer at Magnavox way back when push pull amps were just coming into fashion. He designed a simple parametric phase invertor circuit that I feel sounds the most open and accurate. I've had the fancy brands and don't think they sound as great as Magnavox so there is my obsession and one justification for my prices. The other is that there is a lot of cuts, shocks, burns in addition to time to produce these unique high quality functional art works. You are buying functional art when you buy one of my amps. If you want a status symbol these probably wont work for you but if you want cut above sound and reliability invest in one of my units. I have sold about a dozen over the years and had no complaints, only happy listeners. Electronics gone through and components tastefully upgraded/freshened up for years of wonderful sound and improved safety. Plays nice with solid state or tube preamps. Likes 4 ohm speakers best but produces plenty of thump with 8 ohm speakers. I had it driving two pairs of 8 ohm speakers - WOW! Ballsy and accurate... Sold AS IS due to age and nature of item. No warranties expressed or implied given age and nature of item. This will be well tested once more before pack and ship. This is a heat producing high voltage antique that should be treated like a lit candle when turned on so I assume no liability for damage or death caused by this device. I would put Magnavox amps up against ANY amps in a blindfold sound competition. Comes with used, tested and strong Russian 6P14P output tubes (you can run 7189, 6BQ5 and EL84 tubes in lieu of the 6P14P - tubes in picture are tubes that come with it) , RCA 6EU7 Phase invertor tubes and USA made 5u4 rectifier.
