Description
Here is an original US theatrical half-sheet movie poster for the Universal International release of Toho's serio-comic King Kong vs Godzilla (1962). While the Japanese version plays as a satire on indigenous exploitation and capitalism, the American version was sanitized and dumbed down, with musical cues from The Creature from the Black Lagoon inexplicably replacing Akira Ifukube's original score. The poster remains one of the more exciting US release Godzilla posters, with comic book style illustrations of the monsters and that colossal blocky font.
