Description
Here we have two matching heavily modified Wurlitzer mono tube amplifiers. All capacitors and small resistors were replaced. The original 6l6ga’s were replaced by 6l6gc’s and a custom biasing setup was made. The cathode bias is adjustable from the top of the amplifier. This setup allows your to adjust from (about) 90% dissipation to 100% dissipation of 30 watts the middle being 95% which is the ideal biasing. The phase splitters are pretty much stock aside all new capacitors. The input was modified to let in more signal. All resistors were replaced. There is adjustable feedback which is the third dial on the chassis. The power supply was modified by removing the one rectifier and replacing with solid state diodes for more b+ voltage. A choke and larger capacitors were added to keep them even quieter. A 3 prong power cord for safety and an inrush limiter to prolong the life of the power transformer. A power switch and a led pilot light. They use massive 32 watt Scott output transformers, so big I couldn’t fit them on the top of the chassis which is why they are hanging off the side. They should be good for at least 30 watts per channel. Possibly more but they might clip. As with any power amp it’s all going to come down to what preamp you use. Even though these are almost fully rebuilt they are 60 year old electronics. They are sold as is with no returns.
