Description

Up for sale here is this vintage tube amplifier and separate control panel. This came from a homemade record cutting system that included a Presto record cutting lathe, which was already sold and is not included. This is two parts. The control panel has three controls--a rotary switch, a power switch, and a knob that just has a shaft behind it--no switch. The front panel is marked "Continental Engineering Co Milwaukee, Wis." The amplifier has a number of transformers and big oil capacitors, including a rare UTC PA 132 transformer. It uses 6 tubes, including a type 80 tube and two 45 output tubes. The 45s are pretty nice--one is a Sylvania engraved-base and the other is a National Union engraved base. I think they are both single-plate but I am not 100% sure. The other three tubes have covers over them and I didn't check what they are. The amplifier doesn't have any ID on it that I saw, other than some names on the capacitors and the UTC markings on two transformers. I cleaned off the three visible tubes but did not otherwise test or swap them out. Cosmetic condition is decent but this does have some light rust, lots of dust, and moderate overall wear. This looks good under the chassis--nice and clean. This is completely untested--it is pretty old, and I'm not sure exactly how to hook it up, so I will leave that up to the buyer. This is sold as non-working, for repair. It will need rebuilding before it is ready to use. This will be an incredible amp once it is rebuilt. Please see my pictures for details. US shipping and handling is $60, and international is $200. If you have any questions, please ask. I have more amplifiers and other vintage electronics listed--feel free to take a look!
