Here is an 8802 Magnavox stereo that I rebuilt several years ago; its reliable and sounds excellent. 14-day money back guarantee you will really like this amplifier. Please check out my buyer feedback. Just completed another 8-hour playing session; more than 30 hours so far. I replaced the original output transformers with 8-ohm EDCOR 8K-ohm units; the original OT were likely damaged; I don't recall why they were replaced. They appear to be as good as the original. Re-designed power supply and grounding. Added an inline fuse (1-amp slow-blow), power switch, output balance pot, filament balance pot and speaker output posts, 3 prong power cord, voltage drain resistor added for safety. I replaced several film capacitors and resistors in critical places for improved sound and better reliability. I made a white oak base for the amp to complete the package. My main goal on these Magnavox rebuilds is to retain much of the Magnavox design with subtle changes to improve on the original sound and reliability. 1. All new power supply capacitors with relocated and propergrounding that reduces unwanted supply noise and hum. The original design has a single can capacitor with common ground for all power supply caps and output cathode cap. With no inputs connected to the amp, on 90db speakers, ear at the tweeter, just a little hiss is barely heard; With a preamp or CD player (line-out) connected as I often do, dead quiet, I can't hear anything. This amplifier should be accompanied with a preamp with volume control. Amplifier Specs Max power @ 120Vac rms 1Khz no clipping approx. 8Wrms, 16 watts max-power. 3db Power Bandwidth approx. 25hz to 45Khz. Input sensitivity 1.9Vrms Pics are 1Khz sine with equal clipping and no clipping. Amp voltages @ 120vac rms 6v6gt all test good, strong on my calibrated BK707 at 90 and better (min good is 65) All tube sockets are in very good shape. Ch1 pair are Tungsol made (Tungsol,Delco) branded ch2 pair are G.E. made (Kenrad,Kenrad) branded Plate 270VDC, idle power @ 7W per tube Screen 265VDC Filament 6.3vac rms 6eu7 tubes are both Magnavox, Mullard made (Blackburn factory) The 6ca4 is G.E. Tubes will last a very long time in this rebuilt amplifier, same as the original Magnavox design. My usual set of infinity 88db speakers work fine with this amplifier. My PolkAudio R50's at 90db also sounded outstanding. Send any questions my way. Shipping to only the lower 48states, no international, Hawaii or Alaska.
