Description
Back in the '80s I had Vulcan Metal make me a couple of pairs of these solid brass chassis. I built one pair of mono blocks I still use. You can use a pc board in the rectangular opening or mount some other kind of input stage. The power and output transformers are the same size as Dynaco P-782 and A-431 so Hammond and other standard sized iron will fit with ease. Bottom plates are included as depicted. The holes on the side are for input jacks, speaker binding posts, a bias adjustment pot and two test points to meaure the bias. Yes, the design has a whole lot of similarities to a Mark III. I spent a full 8 hour shift sanding the welded edges smooth and wheel polishing the brass to a high luster. This pair cost me around four hundred bucks but, since we're moving our shop this month and need to get rid of some goodies you can have them for $299.99. I've just included a photo of the finished amps. This photo is included here to show what you can make with the pair of raw chassis we are selling. The amps themselves are NOT included in this sale, understood? Q. Hi there. Curious if the cutout in this one, and or the other suction I saw with the steel chassis that only have the rectangle out...are those the same size as mkIII boards? Nice work by the way. Lorren. A. Board opening measures 5.502" X 3". Board I used measures 5.991" X 3.493". Steve
