Condition Very Good Description Up for sale is a NICE 1960 M1200 stereo DeWALD TUBE amplifier The M1200 model, was made between 1958, and 1960 and some experts think that this a superior-sounding amp because on this model the use of "negative feedback" in a the tone control curcuitry made for a "rich / more alive" sound that later DeWALDs Lacked due to "normal" circuitry. This unit has been both Tested AND Refurbished. Testing showed that one of the stereo channels had much less volume than the other. Changing the tube on that side equalized the volume. The Capacitors have been upgraded. Bad Capacitors are the Enemy of great sound: they can cause humming and can distort the tonal quality. And they are generally the first component to go... The six vacuum tubes are: 4- 12AX7's 4- 6BQ5 / EL84's 2- 6V4's While the finish is far from perfect, the photos show that it's in pretty nice shape given that is 60+ years old.
