Description
This RCA model 38618A 10 watt vacuum tube PA amplifier is in fully working condition. It has an F style mic connector and a 1/4" phono jack for inputs. A nine pin socket and plug allow for 3 different speaker configurations, I wired the plug to 4ohm and 8 ohm options to ground and tested with a bass cabinet. It also has the 25V, 62.5 ohm with center tap outs and the 70V, 500 ohm outs. I ran the signal generator through it and it's working. I'm thinking 1950s from the metal tube casings on the 6V6 output tubes and the 6SJ7. The 6S_7 tubes were common place then. There's also a 6SL7 and a 5Y3 rectifier tube. If I'm reading the gain potentiometer correctly it dates to 1957. It's clear from the bottom view that this amplifier has never been molested. It will certainly need to be serviced for optimal performance, those little orange electrolytic capacitors look fairly suspect. But it's amplifying with minimal noise. Quite old and sold as is with the understanding that it's working. Shipping and handling will be $29.95.
